“What’s The Point of Being Mysterious?”

When you can be expressive! And the right amount of mysterious.

Society made it seem like posting or being yourself is too much. Or when you do, it’s being an open book. In reality, it’s nice to share your experiences and thoughts. I feel like we lost the art of being social and being unapologetically yourself. There’s this rubric you have to follow when posting. It should look a certain way, or else why post it? Why did we do that to ourselves?

It’s almost like repressing the person you have inside that wants to show talent, dedication, a passion for somthing. Hiding away because you are afraid of what people might think. I finally moved past that part of my life. After hitting 23, I realized people will think what they want, and it’s up to us to live this life like it was intended.

Post It

This doesn’t mean post EVERYTHING and show your whole life out. I mean, be expressive. Post that sky photo, a video of you dancing or singing, your fitness gains, show your pottery skills or what you chef’d up! A blog, a podcast, your ART! I think the best way to live this life is being this person that finds the beauty and fun in everything.

A good reason

A good argument I might bring up is the fact that I posted things and eventually lost those photos on my phone, but it’s still up on my Insta! Crazy right. There are photos I’ve posted that I lost because I switched so many phones or that haven’t backed up. Sad. But so many pictures I have archived that remind me of different times and phases. I still have dumps from 2024 from simple days in college, little kids that are now so much bigger, and outfits I wore and probably will never wear again! XD.

Videos on TikTok also got lost on my phone or didn’t back up. All those old 2019-2020 trends are saved because I posted! I would’ve lost them. It was a sad time, but because I posted on my spam account, I have pictures I forgot I ever took. It’s good to even just post it for yourself or to share. Which leads me to my next point.

Fear

Who cares about being an “open book”; people will have opinions regardless. Just be mindful of what exactly you post.

Nowadays (let’s get technical): anything you post might be used against you; digital footprint, so on and so forth. That’s common sense. Don’t post crazy s***.

But what I really want to say is, don’t post those sad quotes when you feel, oh, I don’t know, sad? There’s no need to. Anything that might tell people about your struggles or insecurities, don’t post it. Again, it might be used against you. That’s facts. You may not realize but there are haters out there. Oh what? Haters? No!

Yes, girl…yes. There are people out there who don’t want you to grow, learn, and try new things because, guess what. They are insecure about it themselves. A successful person will never make fun of someone who is trying to be their best. Only a hater.

Now, I’m not speaking from experience, mind you. I’m saying this from other instances. From common patterns. As you can see, I personally don’t care what people say. 🙂

“The Spam“

Also known as “finsta”. The spam is obviously a place you feel safe posting. The people who see it “get you,” and posting there isn’t like posting on the main. It exists because you have a life you want to post as a digital diary but can’t do it on the main. The main is for the aesthetics, the vibes you want to show off. The spam is the place where things can be all over the place.

What’s the mystery?

Mystery isn’t about not posting; it’s about keeping the important things to yourself and sharing the best parts of you. That doesn’t mean all of your achievements. Some you can share, some you might get nazar (evil eye).

It is certain things you want people to see and some that just feel post-worthy. Like the pretty gradient of your coffee, your productive day. But I also believe in the “move in silence” when it comes to achieving your goals.
