The week of the Fourth was great. My cousins, brother, and I road tripped to New York and Pennsylvania. It was short but sweet. The time we had together was so refreshing. The fourth was celebrated with late-night fireworks and game nights. Visiting close friends and eating well. Although we were pretty much on the road, I think the experience to and from was worth it. Full of laughter and snacks (mostly sleeping for me… I sleep a lot). BUT whatever, we had so much fun, and we know to go with our cousins again.
My 23rd birthday celebration at the beach!!! its all I wanted this year, and I was able to pull it off with all my girls. It was so fun. We brought food and drinks, and we were well prepared. I was everything I wished for. My girls, the beach, a hot day in July, and fun. I had good company. My best friend helped me in organizing it. My mom and dad helped organize it, and it was my sweet 16 at the beach all over again; the only difference is I felt like an adult. Now that that was a high-maintenance beach day, I wish for lower and easier-going beach days moving forward. 😌
Now, if you want me to explain the ROAD TRIP to Texas, I gladly will. It was even more fun. The trip we were all looking forward to. And my Aunt made sure to make an itinerary. Let me tell you that is exactly what I expect with trips. The solid program to follow. Nothing against spontaneity, but sometimes a girl needs to know what is expected.
Anywho…the trip consisted of traveling a lot again, but no worries, I sat all the way in the back with headphones on and EXPERIENCED the trip with my eyes and ears. And you best believe I either have Don Toliver playing or Lana Del Rey or Doja Cat. But in Texas, I listened to a lot of Lana and oh my goodness, COUNTRY MUSIC. You would never catch your girl listening to that. But something inside me changed, and now I officially like every genre of music. I also realized LDR has songs for every situation. My Fave.
We went shopping A LOT. I scolded my mom and aunts for taking me shopping cause i dropped dollars everywhere. I got a Lana Del Rey CD, okay…wait for it…I didn’t open it till I got back to Chicago…and there were TWO DISCS IN THERE. Hello?! for the price of one. not complaining. And I bought a cowgirl hat and the cutest little souvenir (his name is Ranger). Since I sat on a real Longhorn, it was needed.
Over all the trip made my love the experience in Texas. It fulfilled alot of my childhood dreams of being around cowboys and the vibe of the wild west. I wore my black cowgirl boots with excitement. Little me would be jumping.
To end the month, my best friend, brother, and some more friends went and enjoyed the new Spider-Man: Brand New Day. A tradition we made after watching No Way Home together back in 2021, we wanted to do it again in 2026. It was amazing. The movie was as it should be, and I loved it.
I DIY’d my shirt to wear to the movie! I hope it looked good cause girl the scissors were always in my hand, adjusting the webs *crying/laughing emoji*, and I drew on the webs.
Overall this month had a lot and i loved everything about it. I spent years hating my birthday month because it was the most boring month for me. I feel like i never lived the summer like it was intended, or when i did, i was a child!
I’m glad this year was different. This month is a month I would repeat. This whole summer is a summer i would do again for sure.
